Quick question[edit]

Do the three edits have to be recent, or can they be from a trillion years ago back on Wikia? --HavocReaper48 22:15, 28 January 2012 (EST)

You just need to have three changes that show that you reverting edits. It doesn't matter how long ago. ..... The Overmind 22:22, 28 January 2012 (EST)

Question about deleted pages[edit]

If you reverted vandalism on a page that was later deleted, would it still count, or would you need to do another one? PikaSamus (talk) PikaSamus 13:35, 14 October 2014 (EDT)

Well, you need to link to the page, and since history is deleted, there would be no proof. I suppose in theory it should be valid, but there is no way to prove it so I guess you're stuck with needing to do another one. A screenshot might work, though, but I'm not sure about this. Return of Air Conditioner Image for Accoolx's signature. So you want a good template? 13:37, 14 October 2014 (EDT)

If it were a normal page that happened to be deleted and happened to have a revert by you in its history, it'd be too much of a pain for you to find and for an admin to check. If it were an obvious vandal page that you reverted to "delete this", you could link to the deleted page and it'd be pretty easy for an admin to check, but I don't think we should be linking to such deleted pages (instead, don't reference them and leave them to rot). In either case I think you should stick to existing pages. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Yoshi 13:46, 14 October 2014 (EDT)

Something about the current RFR.[edit]

I don't think it's that well designed since new RFRs are squashed by current rollbackers being faster. I think we might need some kind of new idea to make RFRs more reasonably possible. Ganonmew, The Thankful Evil Clone 22:16, 21 November 2015 (EST)

I feel like we should just draft something up rather than just state the problem, don't you think? ---Preceding unsigned comment added by a turkey! Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 22:18, 21 November 2015 (EST)
Except I don't really have an idea other than ripping off an RFA. Ganonmew, The Thankful Evil Clone 22:20, 21 November 2015 (EST)
I'll take a shot at it. (This time as an actual policy proposal :P) ---Preceding unsigned comment added by a turkey! Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 22:20, 21 November 2015 (EST)
Probably not until Monday though. I gotta go to bed and I'm really busy tomorrow. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by a turkey! Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 22:29, 21 November 2015 (EST)
This time I won't be mindlessly angry and actually analytical. Anyway, fire away when you can, and good luck. Ganonmew, The Thankful Evil Clone 22:30, 21 November 2015 (EST)

I can sort of see your point, in that if everyone else is getting to the potential rollback edits faster than you are, you'll never have enough reverts in your history to apply for rollback (or at best you get one a month or something). But that being said, if you can't fix something before someone else gets there first, that's probably a sign that we have enough rollbackers. So at the moment I'm of the opinion that this is a good problem to have. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Dispenser 22:33, 21 November 2015 (EST)

Nyargle also made that point, and again it can be argued that there really isn't such thing as "enough" rollbackers since you can pretty much always have more. Also vandals could come on at the weirdest times when rollbackers aren't one potentially wreaking havoc with their vandalsim because of it. Which means you can get the edits for rollback needed then? Rollback as is is ridiculously easy to get, we don't need to lower our standards for it even farther just because someone wanting to "join the club" is beaten to the punch on vandal edits. Question[edit]

How do I tell if the project page is open for discussion? When was the last time it was open for discussion? Should my comment stay even though this page isn't open for discussion right now? -- Ethan (Discussion) 14:19, 13 January 2016 (EST)

If I recall correctly, you'd be able to tell if Toomai says it can be discussed. Disaster Flare My signature image for the default signature. Duplicate of Lucina's life white stock head. (talk) 14:20, 13 January 2016 (EST)
In the project page? -- Ethan (Discussion) 14:21, 13 January 2016 (EST)
I think how it works is Toomai will comment on the open request and say that discussion is open, don't quote me on that, but I think that's how it works. Disaster Flare My signature image for the default signature. Duplicate of Lucina's life white stock head. (talk) 14:22, 13 January 2016 (EST)
Correct. Serpent SKSig.png King 14:25, 13 January 2016 (EST)
You can, however go to John's talk page and ask him about it. Serpent SKSig.png King 14:26, 13 January 2016 (EST)
So my comment stays? When you say "comment" do you mean hidden text? -- Ethan (Discussion) 15:06, 13 January 2016 (EST)
No, you'd be able to see when he says it. Disaster Flare My signature image for the default signature. Duplicate of Lucina's life white stock head. (talk) 15:07, 13 January 2016 (EST)
Okay. Looking at history, I see that people added comments even though Toomai didn't start a discussion. Why is that? -- Ethan (Discussion) 15:20, 13 January 2016 (EST)
Is there something I don't understand? Why where people putting comments when Toomai didn't start a discussion? -- Ethan (Discussion) 16:52, 13 January 2016 (EST)

(reset indent)To be honest, I can't say for certain. Could be possible that the rule wasn't in place at the time, or they were just never confronted about them breaking that rule. Disaster Flare My signature image for the default signature. Duplicate of Lucina's life white stock head. (talk) 16:55, 13 January 2016 (EST)

(edit conflict) Because they missed that part too. It is an oft ignored portion of this page. It shouldn't be, but it is. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 16:56, 13 January 2016 (EST)
Honestly, I never knew that rule was in place until Nintendofan submitted his application. I just always stayed out of it because I felt it wasn't my place to comment on something that Toomai's in charge of so... XD Disaster Flare My signature image for the default signature. No other users may comment unless the RfR has been opened for discussion.

Yeah, that's the point of this discussion. 1) how to know when it's open for discussion, and 2) why so many people ignore it. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by you. Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 17:07, 13 January 2016 (EST)

Response time[edit]

What's the average response time for an RFR? Alex Parpotta (talk) 11:01, 1 July 2017 (EDT)

As long as it takes Toomai to evaluate it. Shouldn't take long. Serpent SKSig.png King 13:03, 1 July 2017 (EDT)
