It is able to view models, textures, animations, shadows, post processing, helper bone constraints, etc. It can also edit skeletons, materials, and vertex data along with validating said edits or custom imports to allow for proper compatibility with the game. It can be considered a replacement/upgrade to Cross Mod and StudioSB as it has many of the same features as them as well as a few extra features and optimizations

Download Windows releases in releases. Users on Linux or MacOS can compile the program from source. Downloads for Mac and Linux builds are planned for a future release.
 
Cross Mod and StudioSB are no longer maintained, so users of these applications should strongly consider updating to SSBH Editor. SSBH Editor is designed for better stability, performance, and features compared to older applications like StudioSB and Cross Mod. This includes improvements to assigning and editing materials.
 
StudioSB is still required for creating custom models with applications other than Blender. The model's FBX, DAE, etc will need to be converted to Smash Ultimate files using StudioSB. Blender can export the Smash Ultimate files directly using the smash-ultimate-blender addon. After exporting using either workflow, open the Smash Ultimate files in SSBH Editor for viewing and editing.
 
SSBH Editor can edit many different file types like numdlb, nuhlpb, and numshb. The application also has increased rendering accuracy with support for bloom, shadows, and post processing. Animation playback supports helper bone constraints used for EXO skel mods and many in game models. Skeletal animation transformations are rendered more accurately as well.
