This track is a remix of the main theme of the ''MSX2'' game ''Metal Gear'', so named for its distinctive rhythm ("ta-rah"). The track begins with a remixed version of the opening jingle ''Operation Intrude N313'', which played during Snake's aquatic infiltration into Outer Heaven. The overall track is remixed in an orchestral style with a heavy drumbeat and muted electric guitar.

This track is a slightly altered version of the theme in ''Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty'' that is used during certain boss fights. For example, it plays when Raiden battles a member of the Dead Cell terrorist unit, hence the name. It also plays when fighting the Harrier. It originates from ''Metal Gear Solid 2''{{'}}s official soundtrack, which uses a slightly different mix compared to the original game.

*Unlike most remixes in ''Smash'', "MGS4 ~Theme of Love" is owned by the original game developers instead of Nintendo themselves, in this case being Konami.
