Does the competitve community already have a list of banned stages?
*Stages I know will be banned because they're walf-offs or moving are:

Depends on whatever scene you're referring to...different tournaments have had different rulesets, including what stages are legal. I believe the most common stagelist atm allows Battlefield, Final Destination, and Yoshi's Island as starters; omega forms can either be starters or counterpicks. Prism Tower is an occasional counterpick. I'm pretty sure that the most recent SSB 3DS nationals so far (all of which are Japanese tournaments) change this up though; I've mostly been seeing omega forms in those tournaments. It's probably too early to determine the most accurate stagelist; can we not wait until Apex 2015? ::Some regional tournaments in NJ/NY have allowed custom special moves; KTAR X did this and the upcoming KTAR XI will also do so. Don't think that any other tournaments so far have allowed custom special moves. :Yeah that's the thing. I think a lot of stage picks in tournaments are probably going to be 50% omega forms or something and the other 50% will be Battlefield, Final Destination and any other stage that doesn't disrupt smashers fighting or give characters advantages over others. It's too bad I haven't found that many stages that are probably going to be legal yet. Pac-Maze's legality [http://smashboards.com/threads/pac-maze-mechanics-and-competitive-discussion.371018/ has been analyzed] and I think it should be a counterpick at most. The hazards and up-grades aren't terribly game-changing (the Ghosts do little damage and knockback, and the power up-grade makes your attacks stronger by a modest 35%), so I don't think it's prone to being banned outright. Mute City and Tomadachi Life also look like counterpick material. For the former, the damaging floor and cars are easily avoided, and the moving platforms deter the projectile camping that makes Jungle Japes a terrible stage for characters with few responses to projectile camping. ::Pac-Maze is also quite large, and the platform just above the central platform does have a minor cave of life effect. Counterpick might be generous, IMO. Though I could be biased because I hate the stage because it reminds me of how often Metal Pac-Man ruined my all-red runs in Classic mode.

::Mute City looks...adequate for counterpick, though I'm not completely convinced, given that the various machines can dart off-screen at any moment, potentially pulling players off the stage. Happened to me in All-Star Mode...even had a no-damage Hard run going as Lucina. ;3;

I'm still frustrated after playing All-Star 51 times through that WarioWare's microgames can't be turned off. They don't show up in All-Star and the layout would be a great competitive stage otherwise. Magicant minus Flying Men as well. Anyway, I'd advocate Battlefield, FD, Yoshi's Island as neutrals, with Prism Tower, Tomodachi Life, Arena Ferox, and Reset Bomb Forest as definite counterpicks (weird how nobody else mentions that last one). Brinstar, Distant Planet, Jungle Japes and even PictoChat 2 are in the category of "could be counterpicks but it's a stretch", in my mind. :@PikaSamus - Yeah, Tomodachi Life is a very camp-friendly stage and that may cause prolonged matches.
:@Crow - Good point, but the racers have warnings appear above them before they exit the line of sight for whatever reason, and staying on the platforms is rather easy. As for Pac-Maze, that's also a good point. I kind of wish that only the upper half of the stage was playable.
:@Miles - Reset Bomb Forest's second transformation is very wonky and the layout encourages excessive retreating and circle camping, but there aren't any stage hazards so I guess it'd be a nice counterpick choice. Arena Ferox is one I forgot; I actually think it should be legal, since it's basically the Fire Emblem universe's answer to Pokemon Stadium.
