Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade (ファイアーエムブレム 封印の剣, Faiā Emuburemu: Fūin no Tsurugi or Fire Emblem: Sword of Seals when translated literally into English) is a Japanese tactical role-playing game developed by Intelligent Systems and published by Nintendo. It is the sixth game in the Fire Emblem series and the first of three games in the series that have appeared on Nintendo's Game Boy Advance handheld. It was the last game in the series to be released exclusively in Japan. It was originally titled Fire Emblem: Ankoku no Miko (暗黒の巫女 Maiden of the Dark).

Playable Character
Roy (SSBM)
The main hero, Roy, was included as an unlockable playable character in to promote the game's then-upcoming release in Japan. His inclusion, along with Marth's, gave the series the worldwide exposure that led to the decision to release all future Fire Emblem installments globally.

Song
The song Winning Road - Roy's Hope is one of the songs that can be heard on Castle Siege.  In The Binding Blade, this song was used to signal that the player had only a few enemies left to defeat before claiming victory. A slightly modified version of this song also appears in Fire Emblem as well with the same function.

Stickers
Appearing stickers from Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade are:
*Roy
*Lilina
*Deke
*Rutoga

Trivia
*Prior to being listed as "Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade" in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the Japanese subtitle "Fuuin no Tsurugi" did not have  an official English translation sanctioned by Nintendo. Because of this, the game is also commonly referred to by English speakers by the more literal translations: "Sealed Sword" or "Sword of Seals".

*Roy makes a cameo appearance as a child at the end of Fire Emblem (the prequel to Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade). Because Fire Emblem (subtitled Rekka no Ken in Japan) was the first in the series to be released outside Japan, the relevance of the boy's appearance is largely missed by Westerners.
*Roy is the first Nintendo character to appear in a game or series before his own.
