:::Every time you save or preview a page with an image at a reduced size, the system must create a duplicate of the original image at that size. To save power, once it does this the first time for a particular size, it saves that image and displays it instead of recalculating the original. This means that changing the original image does not immediately affect the variously-sized copies - I don't know how often they refresh themselves, but it's often a delay that becomes more obvious the larger, more variously-sized, and wider-used an image is.
